Canadian Cue Sports Championships Returns To Shooters Sports Club

Toronto, Ontario, Tuesday, June 5th. to Saturday, June 16th

On behalf of the Canadian Billiards & Snooker Association (CBSA), I am pleased to announce that the 2012 Canadian Cue Sports Championships will be hosted again by:

Shooters Snooker and Sports Club

1448 Lawrence Ave. East

Toronto, Ontario

The Championships will run from Tuesday, June 5th. to Saturday, June 16th., with each division taking place on the dates below:

Pool Divisions:

Men's Amateur 9-Ball:

Tues. June 5th. to Thurs. June 7th.

8-Ball (Open & Women's Amateur):

Fri. June 8th. to Sun. June 10th.

Junior 9-Ball:

Sat. June 9th. to Sun. June 10th.

9-Ball (Open & Women's):

Mon. June 11th. to Wed. June 13th.

10-Ball (Open & Women's):

Thurs. June 14th. to Sat. June 16th.

Snooker Divisions:

Senior Snooker: Thurs. June 7th. to Sat. June 9th.

Open Snooker: Sun. June 10th. to Sat. June 16th.

Amateur Divisions Guidelines:

Any person that is not listed as an open player, pro, or semi-pro by their Province or CBSA can play in this discipline. Each Province does have a different criteria in ranking their players. An amateur can also play in the Open 9-Ball division, if they qualify out of their Province.

JACCS To Sponsor Junior 9-Ball Division:

After the passing of Scott Soroko in 2009, his family and friends formed the Junior Association of Canadian Cue Sports (JACCS), in his memory. I am sure that most of you know that Scott Soroko was the creator of the website Shooterville, and a true friend to all involved in Canadian cue sports. One of his biggest passions was helping out junior aged pool players anyway that he could.

With JACCS sponsoring the CBSA junior program, no sanction fees will have to be paid by any Canadian junior who wishes to play in the Canadian Junior 9-Ball championships. JACCS will pay the expenses to send our participants to the World championships each year. A great way to always remember a great person.

10-Ball Championships Remain A Direct Entry Event:

Due to the many other  disciplines that Provinces hold qualifiers for, the Open 10-Ball Championships will again be a direct entry event, Sanction fees for any person that is not a member in good standing of their respective Provincial Assoc. will not be accepted.

The information sheets for the Championships will be sent out to the Provinces shortly.

Additional information will be found on the CBSA web site: www.cbsa.ca in the following months proceeding the event.

I hope you are all having a successful season in your Province. If any of you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact myself, or any of the CBSA Directors. We would be more that happy to address your concerns.

Kindest Regards,

Steve Cooper

President, CBSA
